Altered paint palette by Riikka

Hello you Wow fans! Is it spring in your parts of the woods already? Or even early summer? Here in Finland it starts to look like spring!
I'm in a spring or even summer kind of mood and going for flowers and candy colors all the time. For this post I created something with flowers, yes, but the color scheme isn't the most summery of them all. I actually first thought to use white gesso instead of black... but I just love how the black really lets the metallic touches shine and shows the colors!

Can you believe that all the colors in the palette are created with embossing powders and foil? On top of those I only used black gesso and silver wax, but all the turquoise and green shades are of embossing powders!
I created a step by step tutorial to this piece. This time there's quite a few steps so let's get started! If you want to see the pictures bigger, just click them to see more details.

Step 1. Grab a tube or jar of black gesso and paint the palette black. Let t…

Foils and stencils by Jaine.

One really cool way to achieve a distressed look with your foils is to use a stencil.  It's as easy as using a stamp and all you need extra is a piece of cut and dry foam or a stencil brush to help you.

You could tape down the paper and the stencil to stop them both from moving while you add the embossing ink through the design but I like to live on the edge as you can see.

With the Bonding Powder added to the ink you can see how random I've been. I wanted the background to be more distressed so deliberately didn't ink through the whole of the stencil.

After heating the bonding powder I added the foil and look how it shines in the sunlight.

For my card I used a pre-inked piece of card and used a contrasting colour of foil for vibrancy.  I also added a heart which was cut from a double sided sticky sheet and foil added to one of the sticky sides. I mounted this onto the card with a few sequins and some metalic thread.

TIP :  If you find your bonding powder has cooled befor…

Foils, Foils & more Foils

Hi all, Jo here and welcome to a very fun blog post where I went "Foil" crazy as I found playing with them rather addictive. I paired the foils with Catherine Pooler "Faithful Flutterings" as this was a great layering step stampset and ideal for this foiling technique.
I have created a You tube for the above card .

The below card is very similar the the above just changed the location of the butterflies.

The below card I have used Shaded Lilac Distress Ink and Violet Foil. I kept it rather simple as I have used the larger butterfly and I didn't want to take away the focus on the technique.

The below cards I used the Swoop Stencil from Catherine Pooler and the texture paste and glitter combo I have used in a previous post.

I hope you enjoy today's inspiration creations with foiling.

I feel very privileged to be able to do some projects for the fabulous Altenew.
They celebrate 4 years this month, and WOW! Embossing Powders have been with them along the way. And now you can join in the fun and WIN prizes !!!!
We love how our products work so well with theirs… So let me show you what I've created….
We all love a bit of Sparkle, right !!

Let's start off with a video tutorial using the Altenew Blooming Bouquet Stamps and Dies with the Crafty Friends Stamps teamed up with WOW! Sparkles and Clear Gloss.

Hugs & Kisses

With this one I used the Altenew Halftone Hearts Stamp Set with matching word dies.

I stamped on a panel slightly smaller than my card base and embossed with WOW! Pink Robin, Goose and Bird of Paradise. I then die cut two hearts 'layered' in the panel, stuck the middle back in and raised the outer to create an eclipse card. I stamped the 'hugs & kisses' on a piece of card stock and did the Sparkle technique (instructions i…
